General Description of Work:My photographs speak for themselves. Through my work, I try to convey what I see in the shooting of the photograph that most people may pass by on a daily basis. Giving you an alternative perspecitive to the world around you. As a person with a disability, my goal is to help people understand that I am no different than others.

As native Iowan, I capture the beauty of both the natural and technological worlds in which I grew up. Whether cityscapes, muscle cars or a lone prairie flower, my subjects are photographed within a stable composition. Having the flair for photographic ideas both in and out of the studio. I have been a freelance/commercial photographer for fourteen years, working with many different clients through out the years. Here are just a few of them....

My work was selected for the Des Moines Art Center's Faces of Iowa exhibition in 2000. I have worked for the Des Moines Water Works Water Festival, Grand View College (Photo Gallery Manager Communications Building 1997-1999 and Studenterfest 1996-1999), American Cancer Society of North Iowa (Committee Member/Photographer), Mercy Medical Hospital of North Iowa Breast and Cervical Cancer Department (Walk, Run and Wag 04'-08'). In 1996, I was selected as Very Special Arts of Iowa "Artist of the Year" and had a photo selected for the Very Special Arts of Iowa Sesquicentennial Award, "Rivers View" (shown above). I have also displayed photos at the Iowa State Fair Photo Salon in (97' and 99'). I was also invited to participate in an art project through the Arts and Humanities Department through University of Iowa, known as Hey Ya (visual arts in the Year of the Arts & Humanities 04'), the project combines art & technology research with a broad public information effort.

Bio: I have received an Associates in General Studies Arts/Science degree from Des Moines Area Community College in 1993, B.A. in Radio/TV and Photography through the Creative and Performing Arts curriculum from Grand View University in 1999, Assoc. in Science (Business) Business Systems Information Technician, Certificates in Computer diagnostics, Foundations of security, SOHO network mgmt from North Iowa Area Community College 2009. I have taught adult education photography classes at North Iowa Area Community College (04'). I have judged the North Iowa Fair photo exhibits in Mason City, IA for the last 7 years(03'through 10'). I have been associated with the  Iowa Arts Council as an artist through the Artist registry about 10 years. You can hire me to prepare a PowerPoint presentation and lecture for photography workshops related to or about your business/organizational services. Services Offered 1:  Photography (commissions) - I will work with clients to photograph subjects of all kinds, from buildings to custom vehicles and nature, presenting this information through the use of lecture and PowerPoint presentations. Contact the artist for information and fees.

Services Offered 2:  Workshops (education) - Workshops cover the basics of photography; film, digital, cameras and lenses, types of photography, subjects and subject locations, how to upload your photos from your digital camera to your computer and how to manipulate them for use in emails and basic web design. The workshops are designed for beginner and intermediate students who want practical and quick results.
